York—Simcoe is a provincial electoral district consisting of the municipalities of Innisfil, Bradford West Gwillimbury, East Gwillimbury, Georgina and King north of Regional Road 31. It also includes the Indian reservation of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. Forming a horseshoe around the Southern shores of Lake Simcoe, the geographically large riding represents roughly 125,000 people. York-Simcoe has been represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 2007, when provincial ridings were defined to have the same borders as federal ridings. The President of the riding association is John Trotter, and the nominated PC candidate for the riding is Julia Munro, who has been MPP of the riding since its creation.
